"Saberes Científicos - Revista Multidisciplinar" adopts a multidisciplinary approach that promotes the integration of perspectives, theories, and methodologies from diverse fields of knowledge. It aims to publish academic contributions that foster dialogue across disciplines, valuing both theoretical and applied research.

The journal's scope includes the reception and dissemination of scientific works addressing complex issues from a critical, reflective, and cross-cutting perspective. Epistemic plurality, methodological diversity, and openness to innovative approaches that contribute to the production and circulation of knowledge in diverse academic contexts—both local and global—are prioritized.

III. OBJECTIVE

The objective of "Saberes Científicos - Revista Multidisciplinar" is to promote the production, dissemination, and socialization of scientific knowledge through the publication of original research that contributes to academic, scientific, and social development. The journal aims to establish itself as a reference space for the exchange of knowledge, strengthening critical thinking and advancing innovative proposals that respond to contemporary challenges from diverse disciplines and perspectives.

The journal's mission is to facilitate the dissemination of original and rigorous research addressing current issues from various disciplines. It seeks to be an open space for the exchange of ideas and knowledge that promotes scientific, academic, and social development, encouraging interdisciplinary collaboration and innovation.

V. TARGET AUDIENCE

The journal is aimed at researchers, academics, faculty members, and graduate students from diverse disciplines seeking a platform for publishing and accessing rigorous scientific research. It is also directed toward professionals, institutions, and research centers interested in the generation and dissemination of multidisciplinary knowledge that contributes to academic, scientific, and social advancement.

VI. FREQUENCY

The journal is published on a quarterly basis, meaning it releases four issues per year, each corresponding to a three-month period.

Issues are organized as follows:

IX. TYPES OF MANUSCRIPTS ACCEPTED

"Saberes Científicos - Revista Multidisciplinar" receives and evaluates original manuscripts that meet the journal's scientific and academic quality criteria. Submissions must be unpublished and not under review elsewhere. Accepted manuscript types include, among others:

  • Original research articles: Papers presenting unpublished results of scientific research with rigorous methodology and significant contribution to the field.
  • Review articles: Critical and systematic analyses of the state of the art on a specific topic, identifying advances, gaps, and research trends.

X. PEER REVIEW SYSTEM

The journal implements a rigorous external peer-review system for article selection and publication. All submitted manuscripts undergo a double-blind peer-review process, where both authors and reviewers remain anonymous to ensure impartiality and objectivity.

The review process is conducted by external evaluators, including specialized members of the editorial committee and permanent advisors, ensuring independent and well-founded academic judgment. The internal technical team and authorities of "Editorial Saberes Científicos" do not participate in the scientific review of articles.

The procedure for manuscript acceptance includes the following stages:

  1. Initial evaluation: Verification of compliance with formal and thematic requirements.
  2. Assignment to external reviewers: Submission to at least two expert reviewers in the relevant field.
  3. Review and report: Reviewers provide detailed reports with recommendations for acceptance, revision, or rejection.
  4. Editorial decision: The editorial committee, based on reviewers’ reports, makes the final publication decision.

The estimated time for review and editorial decision is approximately 2 to 3 weeks, ensuring a rigorous yet efficient process.

XI. ACCESS AND REUSE POLICIES

This is an open-access journal, meaning all content is freely and unrestrictedly available to users and their institutions. No registration or payment is required to read, download, copy, distribute, print, or link to full texts of published articles, provided proper attribution is given to the authors and the journal.

Authors retain copyright and grant the journal the exclusive right of first publication. Articles are distributed under the Creative Commons Attribution-NonCommercial 4.0 International License (CC BY-NC 4.0), which allows third parties to:

  • Share (copy and redistribute the material in any medium or format).
  • Adapt (remix, transform, and build upon the material).

Provided appropriate credit is given, no commercial use is made, and any changes are indicated.

Authors who publish in the journal retain full copyright of their works. Upon manuscript acceptance, authors grant the journal the exclusive right of first publication, meaning the article must not have been previously or simultaneously published in another journal.

Subsequently, authors are authorized to disseminate their work in institutional repositories, academic networks, or personal websites, provided it is clearly stated that the article was first published in this journal, including full citation and a link to the original text.

XIII. FEES/PAYMENTS

"Saberes Científicos - Revista Multidisciplinar" does not charge any fees for manuscript submission, review, or publication, ensuring the entire editorial process is completely free for authors and promoting accessibility and equity in the dissemination of scientific knowledge.

XIV. ETHICS CODE

We are committed to the highest standards of academic integrity and ethical scientific publishing. Therefore, we adopt and promote the guidelines established by the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE), specifically its Code of Conduct and Best Practices for Journal Editors.

These ethical standards apply to all participants in the editorial process: authors, reviewers, editors, and members of the scientific committee. Key guiding principles include:

  • Originality of work and prohibition of plagiarism.
  • Transparency regarding conflicts of interest.
  • Respect for copyright and proper citation of sources.
  • Confidentiality during the peer-review process.
  • Objectivity and impartiality in editorial evaluation.

Additionally, in accordance with the Heredia Declaration on the use of Artificial Intelligence (AI) in science, the journal requires that any use of AI tools in manuscript preparation be clearly declared by the authors. These tools may support writing or analysis but in no case replace human authorship or exempt authors from responsibility for the content.

By submitting a manuscript, authors confirm that they have read and agree to these ethical policies.

XV. PLAGIARISM DETECTION

All submitted manuscripts undergo a review process that includes detection of potential plagiarism or unattributed textual similarity.

This process combines manual review by the editorial team and the use of Similarity Check (by Crossref), an internationally recognized tool for detecting textual similarity in academic publications.

If significant unattributed similarities are identified, the manuscript will be rejected or returned to the authors for correction. The journal reserves the right to reject any work that violates academic ethics, including total or partial plagiarism, unjustified self-plagiarism, or improper use of AI-generated content without proper declaration.

XVI. INTEROPERABILITY PROTOCOLS

We ensure maximum visibility and accessibility of content through internationally recognized interoperability protocols.

To facilitate automatic harvesting of metadata by external systems, repositories, and databases, the journal uses the OAI-PMH (Open Archives Initiative Protocol for Metadata Harvesting), accessible at: https://revistas.edsaci.org/index.php/saberescientificos/oai/

Additionally, the journal includes standardized metadata based on the Dublin Core schema on both the homepage and individual article pages, improving interoperability and facilitating indexing in search engines and academic platforms.

XVII. DIGITAL PRESERVATION POLICY

The journal uses the Open Journal Systems (OJS) platform to manage publication, archiving, and digital preservation of all its content. Each published article receives a DOI (Digital Object Identifier) assigned via Crossref, ensuring a unique, persistent, and stable identification, avoiding issues from URL changes or other factors.

  • PKP Preservation Network: To ensure long-term preservation, the journal is part of the PKP Preservation Network, which offers free preservation services for OJS-based journals meeting specific criteria. Content is securely and permanently stored in systems such as LOCKSS (Lots of Copies Keep Stuff Safe) and CLOCKSS (Controlled Lots of Copies Keep Stuff Safe).
  • LOCKSS: Developed by Stanford University Library, LOCKSS creates distributed copies of journal content across participating libraries. Copies are periodically validated and synchronized to detect and correct data loss or corruption, ensuring a secure and reliable digital archive.
  • CLOCKSS: Complementarily, Saberes Científicos uses CLOCKSS, based on LOCKSS technology, which distributes stored content to participating libraries and archives. This system provides additional backup, ensuring permanent availability and conservation of the journal’s digital scientific heritage.

Furthermore, each article is published in accessible formats such as HTML and PDF, facilitating export and preservation for future generations, independent of technological or platform changes.
